Creative Director • Senior Art Director • Brand Designer

Cox Communications

During my time with Cox Communications' internal brand studio as a Senior Art Director, I helped the team craft creative across a wide range of campaigns, channels and audiences. The work moved between big campaign thinking and the details of bringing those ideas to life across digital, social, email, web, print and more.

I worked closely with writers, designers, strategists and internal teams to take projects from concept through execution, always looking for ways to make the work feel more cohesive, more human and more connected to the Cox brand. It was the kind of role where I could think big, solve problems and still stay close to the design, which is where I do my best work.

Cox Fiber "Brilliant Internet"

Creative Direction • Naming • Brand Identity • Campaign Design

Concepting the winning campaign concept for Cox Fiber's new initiative towards fiber internet was a cornerstone project during my time at Cox. The idea was to move fiber away from the cold, overly technical language that dominates the category and give Cox a way to talk about the technology that felt more ownable, energetic and human.

With the team, I helped build the visual identity around a glowing neon script treatment for Brilliant, creating a bold contrast between the warmth and personality of the idea and the speed and technology behind the product. From there, I developed the broader branding system and Powered by Fiber messaging, establishing a flexible visual language that could carry across campaign, digital and customer touch points. The result gave Cox Fiber its own recognizable personality while still feeling connected to the larger Cox brand.

Tips & Tricks

As Art Director on Tips & Tricks, a Cox product education campaign designed to make technology feel a little more human. We created a recurring, modern TV family and used humor and everyday situations to show customers how Cox features could actually make life easier. The series covered Panoramic Wifi, Homelife and Contour through stories about pausing WiFi for family time, sharing a password with a QR code, checking in on home while traveling and watching live TV away from home.

I helped shape the campaign from concept through production, developing the visual direction, storyboards and character personalities, then working through casting, locations, wardrobe, photography and the shoot itself. The goal was to make product education feel less like a tutorial and more like something you would actually want to watch, while creating a repeatable format Cox could continue building on.

Cox Village Touchscreen

Creative Direction • Experience Design • UX/UI • Retail

Along with my team at The Brand Studio, we designed The Cox Village. An interactive in store touchscreen experience created to make Cox Internet speeds easier to understand in a way that felt interactive, visual and actually fun to explore. Instead of asking customers to make sense of Mbps, technical specs and tier names, we built an entire virtual neighborhood around the way real households use the internet.

We developed five distinct households based on consumer research, each representing a different level of connectivity and internet use. Customers could move through the village, enter each home, explore connected devices and see how everything from streaming and gaming to working from home, security cameras and smart home technology affects bandwidth. We also built in character moments and little interactive surprises throughout the homes so the experience felt more like exploring a world than reading a product comparison.

The result turned a pretty complicated sales conversation into something intuitive and approachable, giving customers a better understanding of what they actually need before ever sitting down with a sales rep. I executed the concept, experience design and visual direction from the overall Cox Village concept through the families, homes, interface, interactions and retail touchscreen experience.

Expedition 100k

Creative Direction • Campaign Concept • Naming • Visual Identity • Scriptwriting • Storyboarding

Cox Mobile was closing in on 100,000 active lines and wanted to turn the milestone into something employees could rally around. I developed Expedition 100K, an internal campaign that reframed the sales journey as a five-stage climb, with each quarterly goal becoming another checkpoint on the way to the summit.

Inspired by vintage expedition films and classic nature television, the concept paired a charismatic studio host with cinematic climbing footage, illustrated maps and an explorer-style campaign badge. I developed the creative direction, visual identity, scripts and key frames, building a flexible story that could unfold across five daily videos while giving employees ways to participate, compete and celebrate the progress together.

Cox Mobile needed to turn a major growth target into a story employees could see themselves in, not just another number on a slide.

SCTE Expo 2023

Creative Direction • Environmental Graphics • Digital Experience • Web Design • Motion Art Direction

For the SCTE Expo, Cox created an immersive booth experience that brought its technology, community initiatives and brand story together in one space.

I designed the wrap for the Community Connector trailer, transforming it into a bold branded centerpiece within the booth. I also designed the full digital experience, including the event website and the visual system for the videos playing across every screen. Working closely with the video and production teams, I helped connect the physical environment and digital storytelling into one cohesive Cox experience.
